After going 2-for-3 in home run bets on Friday, here are three viable targets to go yard in fantasy baseball ahead of Saturday’s slate.
Why Michael Busch Is a Strong Home Run Bet vs. the Nationals (+250)
Michael Busch went 3-for-4 with a walk, 2 doubles, 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored in Thursday’s 10-4 loss to the Washington Nationals, and he has already proven he has raw power to all fields after a 2025 campaign in which he hit .261 with an .866 OPS, 34 homers, and 90 RBIs across 155 games and 592 plate appearances.
The pitching matchup also represents an advantage not only for Busch but for the Cubs as a whole, as the Nationals will have Miles Mikolas on the mound. Mikolas allowed 9 homers at Wrigley Field last season, and Busch is a career .400 hitter with a 1.438 OPS and 3 homers in 15 at-bats against him. If any Cubs hitter is going to go yard Saturday, there’s a strong chance it’ll be Busch.
Why Pete Alonso Is a Strong Home Run Bet vs. the Twins (+300)
The Orioles are one of the top lineups to stack in fantasy baseball ahead of Saturday’s slate due to the pitching matchup, as the Minnesota Twins will have Taj Bradley on the mound, and the latter is not known for his command or control. Pete Alonso isn’t a left-handed hitter, whom Bradley often gets more exposed against, but he’s an elite hitter who has yet to go yard with the Orioles since signing a massive contract in free agency.
Alonso didn’t have his best performance on Opening Day, going 0-for-3 with a walk and 2 strikeouts, but his raw power to all fields (and the adjustments made to Camden Yards during the offseason) should lead to Alonso having a strong season in Baltimore. This pitching matchup looks like a good opportunity on paper to see the slugger belt his first long ball of the year.
Why Fernando Tatis Jr. Is a Strong Home Run Bet vs. Jack Flaherty (+300)
Fernando Tatis Jr. has as much power as any outfielder in the game, and he’s a strong bet to go yard on a steady basis. He’s coming off a 2025 season in which he blasted 25 homers with an .814 OPS and a .178 ISO.
Tatis also has at least 25 long balls in three of his last five seasons, and Saturday’s game against the Detroit Tigers might be an ideal chance for him to go yard for the first time in 2026.
That’s because he’ll be squaring up against the offerings of Jack Flaherty, and Tatis has hit .444 with a 1.500 OPS and 1 homer in 9 at-bats against the veteran right-hander. Now that Tatis is hitting in the middle of the order for the San Diego Padres, he’s going to have better protection around him, and with his outstanding power and favorable splits against Flaherty, this is certainly a strong matchup on paper for the Dominican Republic native.
