Looking for some late fantasy baseball and DFS advice ahead of Friday’s eight-game slate in MLB? Here are two lineups to consider if you’re looking to stack offenses, as well as a hitter to watch and two starters to keep close tabs on in case you need to make a late call selecting your pitchers.
Why the Houston Astros Are a Strong Fantasy Stack Against the Los Angeles Angels
The Astros lost on Opening Day against the Angels and didn’t score a single run. However, when looking at how good some of the Astros hitters have been against Yusei Kikuchi, who will get the nod for the Angels on Friday, that could change quickly. Yordan Alvarez is perhaps the Astros’ most dangerous hitter, and he’s hit .357 with a 1.143 OPS and three homers in 28 at-bats against the Japanese hurler.
It doesn’t end there, though. Carlos Correa has hit .500 with a 1.176 OPS in 28 at-bats. Jake Meyers has a 1.000 OPS and two homers in 12 at-bats. Isaac Paredes has hit .333 with a 1.048 OPS and two homers in 18 at-bats.
Jeremy Pena has also hit .333 but with a 1.135 OPS and one homer in 12 at-bats. The numbers are there for everyone to see. Stack the Astros lineup with confidence.
Why the Miami Marlins Are a Strong DFS Stack Against Kyle Freeland
The Marlins might not be one of the best offenses in the National League, as they averaged just 4.38 runs per game in 2025, ranking 16th in baseball and ninth among NL franchises. However, this matchup against the Rockies and Kyle Freeland is simply too good to pass up. Freeland had a worse FIP on the road (4.51) than at home (3.76) during the 2025 season, a campaign in which he also posted a subpar 4.98 ERA across 162.2 innings.
LoanDepot Park should also be considered a hitter-friendly environment, although not on the same level as Coors Field, so this is a matchup that relies more on the potential struggles of the pitcher rather than the strength of the lineup as a whole. Still, the Marlins have players to keep an eye on Friday, headlined by Christopher Morel, who has a 1.250 OPS and two homers in eight at-bats against Freeland.
Why New York Yankees Outfielder Aaron Judge Is a Top DFS Hitter to Watch
All eyes will be on Judge, who went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts in the season opener against the Giants on Wednesday. Judge is as good a hitter as anyone in the majors, and he’s also the reigning MVP, so he shouldn’t have an issue bouncing back as early as Friday in the second game of the series against the Giants.
He couldn’t have asked for a better pitcher to do so, as he’ll be facing Robbie Ray. Judge is 3-for-8 with three homers and a 2.100 OPS against Ray in his career.
Why You Should Trust Emmet Sheehan in His Season Debut With the Los Angeles Dodgers
Sheehan doesn’t have the fantasy appeal of other arms in the Dodgers’ rotation, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be effective, or valuable in terms of fantasy for this slate. The 26-year-old right-hander posted a 2.82 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with 89 strikeouts over 73.1 innings in 15 appearances, including 12 starts, in the 2025 regular season.
He’s not expected to go deep into the game, but he should give the Dodgers at least five quality innings against a Diamondbacks lineup that struggled considerably against Yoshinobu Yamamoto on Thursday.
