Friday begins another fully-loaded slate of fantasy baseball, and here are three pitchers you should consider as streaming options.
Why You Should Start Michael Wacha Against the Yankees in Fantasy Baseball
Yes, facing the Yankees at Yankee Stadium is a tough assignment for any pitcher in the majors. However, Wacha has been pitching better than anyone could’ve expected, and he also has strong career numbers against the Yankees. Over a sample of 146 plate appearances against hitters who currently play for the Bronx Bombers, Wacha has limited them to a .154 average, a .229 wOBA, and a .359 xSLG.
In short? He’s made Yankees hitters look like below-average hitters throughout his career. Ben Rice and Aaron Judge have been tough outs for Wacha, but he has strong numbers against the rest of them.
Thus, even though there are other options worth considering, it might not be the worst idea to give Wacha a go in your lineups. He’s been pitching well, as the veteran right-hander has logged quality starts in each of his three outings this season while posting a 0.43 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and 17:5 K:BB over 21 innings.
Why Aaron Civale is a Strong Fantasy Streamer vs. the White Sox
Civale has yet to pitch six complete innings this season, so he’s yet to record a quality start, but his numbers have been impressive with just three earned runs allowed across 15.2 innings while posting a 1.72 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. There are issues that Civale needs to tackle, such as a relatively low 6.9 K/9 and a high 1.1 HR/9, and he’s recorded six or fewer strikeouts in each start.
However, he’ll be facing a White Sox lineup that has the worst collective OPS in the majors (.602) and the sixth-most strikeouts (179) so far. That’s not a good combination, making Civale an attractive streaming option, regardless of whether you’re playing DFS or season-long formats.
Streaming Janson Junk Against the Brewers in Fantasy Baseball
The Brewers have been slumping of late, as Milwaukee has posted a collective .672 OPS over the last seven days, the third-worst mark in the National League and sixth-worst in the majors overall. Even though their offense should bounce back sooner rather than later, it’s worth noting that Junk could be in line for a strong outing given his recent history against Milwaukee, as well as his numbers throughout the season.
A sample of 13 plate appearances is not enough to draw conclusions, but over that span, Junk has limited current Milwaukee hitters to a .216 xwOBA, walking none and striking out just 15.4% of the batters he faced. In other words, Junk will rely on low contact rates and strong defense to get the job done here.
Junk has a rostership of less than 10%, so he’s a streaming-matchup option only. He owns a 4.32 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 12:4 K:BB through 16.2 innings so far in 2026.
