The days of considering third base as a position of elite talent in baseball are gone, and that’s particularly true in fantasy. There are some elite performers at the position, such as Jose Ramirez and Junior Caminero, but it’s clear that the hot corner simply doesn’t have the same talent levels at other positions, such as shortstop, the outfield, or even first base.
If you need guidance on which third basemen to draft ahead of the 2026 fantasy baseball season, here is the ranking of the top 10 players with eligibility at the position.
2026 Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Top 10 Third Basemen
1) Jose Ramirez | Cleveland Guardians
2) Junior Caminero | Tampa Bay Rays
Caminero is an interesting case to analyze because he is a prime candidate to experience regression in the 2026 season, which should translate to him not being able to perform at the level his ADP would suggest. This is not a knock on Caminero’s ability as a hitter but rather a result of the context he will be playing in during 2026.
Caminero smacked 45 homers with 110 RBIs, an .846 OPS, and a .271 ISO in 2025, but the Rays will move back to Tropicana Field in 2026. In other words, Caminero will play half of his games in one of the most notorious pitcher parks in the majors.
He should still be one of the best third basemen in 2026, but he is not going to deliver top-20 value simply because his power numbers are very likely to regress. Even with a regression, he should hit around 30 homers and be an effective run-producer once again, which is why he stays as our No. 2 third baseman heading into the 2026 season.
3) Manny Machado | San Diego Padres
4) Alex Bregman | Chicago Cubs
Alex Bregman is an interesting case. He is not getting any younger, but he proved in 2025 that he can still perform at a high level for a team with contending aspirations. While it would have been a stretch to say the Cubs had a “hole” at third base, Bregman represents a clear upgrade over Matt Shaw, and he should be able to outplay his ADP as long as he stays healthy.
Bregman could very well be considered the best third baseman available after the elite tier of Ramirez, Caminero, and Machado, as he doesn’t have a high ceiling but possesses an extremely high floor. His 125 wRC+ ranked near the top among third basemen with at least 400 plate appearances in 2025. If we also take into account his elite plate discipline (10.3% walk rate and 14.1% strikeout rate), all signs point to Bregman being in line to have yet another successful season in 2026.
5) Maikel Garcia | Kansas City Royals
6) Austin Riley | Atlanta Braves
7) Matt Chapman | San Francisco Giants
8) Eugenio Suarez | Cincinnati Reds
9) Isaac Paredes | Houston Astros
Suarez had an up-and-down season in 2025, terrorizing pitchers as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks but later regressing as a member of the Seattle Mariners. That could have been expected, as T-Mobile Park is one of the most pitcher-friendly parks in the majors, but he will return to a hitter-friendly environment in 2026 at Great American Ball Park.
Suarez knows this stadium all too well, as he smacked at least 26 homers in his final four seasons with Cincinnati (excluding the 2020 COVID-19-shortened campaign). He should hit a lot of homers in 2026, and he could be in line to deliver back-to-back 40-homer seasons for the first time in his career. There is a realistic scenario in which he ends up posting better numbers than those worthy of being “only” the eighth-ranked third baseman ahead of the 2026 fantasy baseball season.
