Are you playing fantasy baseball on Saturday and do not know which pitcher to start? Granted, there are options that should be considered auto-starts based on the matchups, such as Jesús Luzardo (vs. Colorado), Shota Imanaga (vs. Cleveland) or Tyler Glasnow (vs. Washington). However, if you need to dig a bit deeper, here are some options to consider as pitchers to stream for Saturday’s 15-game slate.
Why You Should Trust Ryan Weathers vs. Miami on Saturday
The Marlins enjoyed a 5-1 start to the season after opening the 2026 season with back-to-back home series against the Colorado Rockies and Chicago White Sox. However, their offense was shut down Friday in the series opener against the New York Yankees, and it wouldn’t be surprising if that were to be the case again on Saturday. Weathers did a decent job in his 2026 debut, tossing 4.1 innings of one-run ball with seven strikeouts in a no-decision against the Mariners, but he should know a thing or two about the Marlins after pitching in Miami in each of the previous two seasons. Among pitchers with an ownership of less than 30% in most leagues, Weathers is clearly one of the most appealing options.
Why Steven Matz Could Be a Strong Streaming Option in Fantasy Baseball This Saturday
Matz opened the 2026 season with a win over the Cardinals on Sunday, March 29, despite allowing four runs on six hits and a walk across five innings with only two strikeouts. It wasn’t his best performance, but this matchup against the Twins is favorable enough to consider Matz a solid, yet unspectacular, streaming option. The Twins enter Saturday’s slate with a collective .710 OPS that ranks in the middle of the pack, but that could be some overachieving early on, as they project to be one of the worst lineups in the majors. Even though Matz hasn’t been a regular starter since the 2023 season, which means his workload should be monitored, he won’t have many better matchups on paper. Considering his low rosteing percentage, if you’re desperate to take a flyer on a pitcher at a low cost, then Matz could be your man.
Why Shane Baz Should Have an Outstanding Performance vs. Pittsburgh
Baz escaped with a no-decision in his 2026 debut against the Twins last Sunday after allowing four runs on seven hits across 5.1 innings, but he should be in line for a better outing this time around. He’ll be facing a Pirates’ lineup that, even though it secured a 5-4 win over Baltimore on Friday while featuring the debut of top prospect Konnor Griffin, isn’t particularly scary and hits a collective .230 to open the year. Plus, pitching at PNC Park tends to favor pitchers, as this is one of the most pitching-friendly environments in all of baseball. Baz is better than he showed in his debut, the Pirates aren’t as good as their collective OPS (12th, .711) indicates, and this game will be in a pitcher-friendly environment. If you’re looking for a streaming option with a good matchup on paper, don’t hesitate to trust Baz.
