Why Edward Cabrera Is a Strong Fantasy Baseball Streaming Option for Monday
Cabrera was acquired via trade in the offseason, and the hard-throwing right-hander will make his Cubs debut Monday against the Angels. Even though Cabrera isn’t likely to dominate a lineup that scored 25 runs in a four-game series against the Houston Astros over the weekend, the Angels also struck out frequently in that series.
There’s not a lot of value on Cabrera going deep into the game, but he should rack up a ton of strikeouts. After all, he posted a 3.53 ERA with 150 strikeouts across 137.2 innings for the Marlins in 2025, and he has shown he’s capable of racking up strikeouts when needed. Cabrera has posted a K/9 of 9.8 or higher in his last three seasons, including reaching the 10.0 mark twice, showing he’s capable of putting up solid strikeout numbers.
Why Cody Ponce Is a Great Streaming Pitcher Against the Rockies
Ponce will be pitching in a major league game on Monday for the first time since the 2021 season, but he couldn’t have asked for a better matchup since he’ll take on a subpar Rockies offense while pitching at home. Even though it’s hard to expect much from Ponce, the spring numbers were promising, as he posted a 0.66 ERA over 13.2 innings.
Furthermore, he’ll be looking to stay in the rotation on a long-term basis, and pitching well here would be huge. Considering that Trey Yesavage (shoulder), Shane Bieber (elbow), and Jose Berrios (elbow) are all on the injured list, Ponce will have every chance to stay in the rotation for the time being, and a favorable matchup against Colorado certainly bodes well for his chances to do so Monday.
Why Streaming Kris Bubic Against the Twins Is an Excellent Option
Bubic should be taken in most season-long formats, but if he’s available in your league, you should grab him and start him in this matchup against an anemic Twins offense. Minnesota went 1-2 over the weekend against the Baltimore Orioles, but its lineup isn’t particularly fearsome, and Bubic should be able to post decent numbers against them.
Bubic made 20 starts last season and posted an impressive 2.55 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP, but most importantly, he’s healthy enough to go deep if needed. Considering that the Twins scored just 11 runs in three games against the Orioles in their opening series, the stage is set for Bubic to have a strong 2026 debut.
