If you’re looking to stream hitters with an eye toward analyzing potential home run bets for Wednesday’s fantasy baseball slate, here are three hitters you should target for April 15.
Why Kyle Tucker Could Be a Candidate to Hit a Home Run vs. Clay Holmes
Tucker might not sport a high average against Clay Holmes, as he’s hitting just .250 against him in eight at-bats, but he’s already gone yard once and owns an .875 OPS in those eight at-bats. Tucker is having a subpar start to life in Dodger Blue, hitting .242 with a .666 OPS and just one home run in 75 plate appearances, but he should get things back on track sooner rather than later.
The star outfielder is just too talented to continue hitting like this, and he’s not the only proven slugger who has been enjoying a slow start to the campaign. With a matchup he likes in Holmes, Tucker could start turning things around by going yard this Wednesday.
Why You Should Target Elly De La Cruz to Hit a Home Run on Wednesday
De La Cruz is enjoying an excellent start to the season and already has five homers in 75 plate appearances through his first 17 games, including two in his last four games. De La Cruz has as much power as anyone in the big leagues, and while the ratio of homers per plate appearance is going to decrease at some point, De La Cruz faces a favorable matchup against Tyler Mahle.
For what it’s worth, Mahle has a .477 xwOBA against current Reds hitters in his career, and De La Cruz has a .538 xSLG against Mahle in his career, so he’s been making hard contact against him in the past. With De La Cruz seeing the ball extremely well of late, and considering his impressive start to the season, he should be a popular pick to go yard on Wednesday.
Why Mike Yastrzemski Is an Excellent Option to Hit a Home Run on Wednesday
Yastrzemski will face Chris Paddack and the Miami Marlins on Wednesday, and the veteran outfielder has posted outstanding numbers against Paddack throughout his career. Over 23 at-bats against him, Yastrzemski has nine hits, with six of them going for extra bases and three leaving the yard. Overall, Yastrzemski has hit .391 with a 1.353 OPS against Paddack, making him one of the top hitters to stream in DFS contests on Wednesday but also a likely home-run candidate.
