If you’re looking for fantasy baseball advice and potential home-run hitters ahead of Saturday’s slate, here are three players who have elite potential to go yard.
Why Rafael Devers is a Top Home Run Target Against Chris Bassitt
Devers should be one of the most popular picks among potential home-run hitters for Saturday’s slate. That’s because Devers has had excellent results in the past against Chris Bassitt, but also because he’s seeing the ball better after a slow start to the season. Devers has hit just two homers all season long and had to wait until the seventh game of the season to go yard for the first time, but he’s hit safely in four of his last five outings while slashing .250/.286/.400 with a .686 OPS.
Those are far from eye-popping numbers, but it’s an uptick compared to the .577 OPS he had in his first nine games of the season. Plus, the real strength here lies in Devers’ previous results against Bassitt. In 20 at-bats against the 37-year-old right-hander, Devers has hit .500 with a 1.600 OPS and three homers. As if that wasn’t enough, Bassitt has been hit hard this season, allowing 10 runs on 12 hits and a 3:6 K:BB in just 6.1 innings through two starts.
Why Yordan Alvarez is a Major Home Run Threat Against Seattle
Alvarez has been one of the best hitters in the majors over the first two-plus weeks of the 2026 season, and he enters Saturday’s game against the Mariners with a .341/.516/.750 slash line, a 1.266 OPS, and five home runs in just 44 at-bats. He went yard in Friday’s 9-6 loss, and it wouldn’t be shocking if he does it again, especially considering the results he’s had against Luis Castillo in the past.
Alvarez has hit .474 with a 1.524 OPS and three dingers in 19 previous at-bats against Castillo, and while T-Mobile Park is a suppressing home-run environment, it seems outside factors aren’t slowing Alvarez down in 2026. He’s been the best hitter in the majors this season and could aim to exploit another favorable matchup on Saturday.
Why Josh Bell is a Smart Pick to Go Yard Against the Blue Jays
Bell has as much power as any hitter in the majors, but his results this season have been filled with inconsistencies. He has gone hitless in seven of his 14 games so far, but it’s worth noting that he’s had at least one extra-base knock in six of the seven games in which he’s recorded a hit. Bell has three homers and four doubles so far in 2026, so the power is still there, and his hard-hit rate of 51.6% ranks 29th in the majors, so he’s making loud contact on a regular basis.
The matchup against Eric Lauer is favorable as well, as Bell has hit .313 with an .896 OPS and one home run in 16 previous at-bats against the 30-year-old southpaw. Given that Lauer’s results have been underwhelming this season (4.91 ERA, 1.36 WHIP in 7.1 innings across two starts), Bell could be poised to add to his home-run total this Saturday.
