Thursday’s action features only six games on the MLB slate, with three starting in the early afternoon and three more tonight. And if you’re looking for some fantasy baseball advice, this is your one-stop for everything you need to know ahead of this slate.
Whether you need advice on which hitters to add, any potential pitchers to stream, or a lineup to stack, here’s our fantasy advice for Thursday’s six-game slate on April 9, 2026.
Why You Should Stack the Colorado Rockies Lineup
Coors Field will always inflate your offensive numbers, and it’s hard to draw conclusions after just three games, but the Rockies have looked better than expected so far. They’re coming off a sweep of the Houston Astros, and the matchup against the Padres on Thursday looks favorable as well since several Colorado players have had success against Randy Vasquez in the past.
Particularly, we’re singling out Brenton Doyle and Ezequiel Tovar. Doyle has hit .333 with a .929 OPS in 12 at-bats against Vasquez, while Tovar has looked even better with a .462 average and a 1.000 OPS in 13 at-bats against the Padres’ right-hander.
Why You Should Consider Bo Bichette as a Potential DFS Option
Even though Bichette has endured a slow start to the 2026 season, he seems to be turning things around lately. He went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a strikeout in Wednesday’s loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks, and now he has three multi-hit games in his last five appearances, hitting .348 with a .766 OPS in that stretch.
As if that uptick in performance wasn’t enough, he’s also had plenty of success against Eduardo Rodriguez, hitting .385 with a 1.352 OPS and two homers in 13 at-bats against him. At least on paper, this looks like an excellent chance for Bichette to hit his first homer of the season. He has yet to go yard after 57 plate appearances this season.
Trust Seth Lugo as a Streaming Option vs. the Chicago White Sox
If you’re looking for a streaming option for Thursday’s slate, look no further than Seth Lugo. He’s delivered back-to-back strong outings to open the season, and the numbers back that up. Through 11.1 innings in two starts, Lugo has posted a 10:2 K:BB with two runs allowed (both earned) and nine hits.
Those numbers are enough to roster him in most formats and hope for the best, even if he’s not pitching deep into games, but his matchup Thursday is favorable since he’ll be facing the Chicago White Sox.
Even though Chicago has looked better than expected to open the season, the White Sox still have one of the weakest lineups in the majors. Start Lugo with confidence regardless of whether you’re playing in DFS or season-long formats.
