Unsure which pitchers to start in Thursday’s six-game MLB fantasy baseball slate? Here are three options to consider, including an underrated pitcher with an extremely favorable matchup.
Why Max Meyer Is a Top Fantasy Baseball Streaming Option for Thursday
The Miami Marlins have a favorable home matchup Thursday against the Cincinnati Reds, making Max Meyer a solid option to stream in most formats. Granted, Meyer’s numbers have been far from ideal since he’s allowed 5 runs on 8 hits and 5 walks with 11 strikeouts across 9.2 innings in his first two starts.
However, he should benefit from pitching against a below-average offense at home. It’s far from a sexy pick, but with just six games on tap Thursday, Meyer emerges as a decent streaming option in an otherwise weak slate.
Seth Lugo Offers Excellent Streaming Value Against the White Sox
Seth Lugo is another strong option if you need to stream a starter for Thursday’s six-game slate, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that, based on pure performance, he might be the best streaming option available. Through 11.1 innings in two starts, Lugo has posted a 10:2 K:BB with 2 runs allowed (both earned) and 9 hits.
As if his solid numbers weren’t enough, he has an excellent matchup at home against the Chicago White Sox, who have one of the weakest lineups in the majors despite a decent start to the season. Start Lugo with confidence in all your leagues if you have the chance.
Why Ryan Weathers Is a Strong Streaming Option Against the Athletics
Granted, the results just haven’t been there when it comes to Ryan Weathers, but the stuff has been solid, and he has a favorable matchup against a strikeout-happy lineup in the Athletics. Weathers did not factor into the decision in his previous start against Miami, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks with 4 strikeouts across 3.2 innings.
Those numbers aren’t going to cut it in most fantasy formats, but with 11 strikeouts in just 8 innings across two games, the potential is there. Weathers’ success will hinge on his control and command issues. If he can limit the walks (5 so far), he should be in line for a bounce-back performance on Thursday.
