Matt Chapman, 2 Other Tuesday Power Bats Could Exploit Favorable Matchups In Fantasy Baseball (April 14, 2026)

If you’re unsure which players to target as potential home-run threats for Tuesday’s fantasy baseball slate, here are three options who could pay dividends.

Matt Chapman Is a Strong Home-Run Threat Against Brady Singer

Few hitters in Tuesday’s slate have been as successful as Chapman has been against Brady Singer in his career. Even though the sample size is somewhat small, as there have been only 10 at-bats, Chapman has recorded seven hits, including two homers and five extra-base knocks. The numbers are telling, with Chapman posting a 2.300 OPS in his 10 at-bats against Singer, who also happens to be struggling quite a bit across the board.

Chapman has been seeing the ball well of late, and his 0-for-4 performance against the Orioles on Sunday actually snapped a seven-game hitting streak in which he slashed .444/.483/.593 with a 1.075 OPS and three extra-base hits. The veteran third baseman has been on a bit of a power drought, though, with just one homer in 16 games, but Tuesday looks like an excellent opportunity to go yard once again.

Trust Pete Alonso to Go Yard Against Merrill Kelly

We went with Pete Alonso as a home-run option in Monday’s slate, and he delivered in a big way by smacking his second long ball of the season. Alonso could be in line to hit homers in back-to-back games, something he’s yet to achieve since joining the Orioles in the offseason, as he’ll be facing a pitcher whom he’s had success against in the past.

Alonso has hit .263 with a 1.053 OPS and three homers in 19 at-bats against Merrill Kelly throughout his career. Plus, Kelly will be making his first start of the season on Tuesday, so how sharp he’ll be in terms of command will be a bit uncertain. Alonso has had enough success against Kelly in the past to believe he might be a solid home-run pick for a second consecutive game.

Bryan Reynolds Is an Excellent Home-Run Threat Against Miles Mikolas

Another hitter with a sizable history of success against a specific pitcher, Bryan Reynolds is certainly a hitter to watch in Tuesday’s slate since he has a favorable matchup against Miles Mikolas and the Washington Nationals. Reynolds has had 44 at-bats against Mikolas in his career, and the numbers are impressive since he’s recorded 15 hits, including a home run among his six extra-base knocks, for a .341 average and a .913 OPS.

Considering that Reynolds went 3-for-4 in Monday’s series opener and that he’s hit safely in six of his last seven games, he’s seeing the ball well enough to take advantage of Mikolas’ woes. Mikolas has yet to pitch more than five innings in a game this season, and the results have been woeful, allowing 19 runs (17 earned) on 22 hits and seven walks while fanning 11 across 12.1 frames. Reynolds should exploit this matchup.
