There’s a lot to like ahead of Tuesday’s slate in fantasy baseball, and here we have several recommendations in case you’re looking to assemble changes to your roster, regardless of whether you’re playing in season-long formats or DFS contests.
Here are two lineups worth stacking Tuesday, as well as three hitters to watch and one pitcher to potentially stream.
Why You Should Trust the Houston Astros at Coors Field on Tuesday
The Houston Astros didn’t have their best performance in the series opener against the Colorado Rockies on Monday, but this offense is just too good not to be considered a potent stack, especially since this game will be played at Coors Field. Yordan Alvarez went hitless on Monday but continues to put up MVP-level numbers, while players such as Christian Walker (2-for-5 on Monday and a career .993 OPS against Kyle Freeland) and Jose Altuve (.958 OPS vs. Freeland) are enough reasons to trust the Astros as a lineup stack for a second game in a row.
The Astros are leading the majors in several offensive categories as a team, including hits (111), doubles (34), and RBI (71) while also posting the second-best collective OPS (.888), just behind the Los Angeles Dodgers. With this game being played at Coors Field, don’t be afraid to trust the Astros once again.
Why the Los Angeles Angels Are a Strong DFS Lineup Stack
If you’re looking for another lineup to stack ahead of Tuesday’s slate, the Los Angeles Angels could be an excellent choice. The main threat here is Mike Trout, who seems to have found the fountain of youth this season but has also enjoyed a lot of success against Reynaldo Lopez in the past: He’s hitting .556 with a 1.252 OPS across nine at-bats against the Atlanta Braves right-hander.
Trout is not the only Angels player with a history of success against Lopez, however, as Jorge Soler has also delivered excellent numbers with a .591 batting average, a 1.898 OPS, and four homers in 22 at-bats against the righty, who also owns a .396 xwOBA against current Angels hitters throughout his career. Don’t be afraid to stack several Angels hitters in your lineups if you have the chance to do so.
Alex Bregman Stands Out as a Hitter to Watch in Tuesday DFS Slates
Alex Bregman is probably owned almost universally across all leagues, but that doesn’t mean we won’t highlight him as a hitter to watch for DFS purposes. The veteran third baseman already has two homers with the Chicago Cubs this season and has looked the part at the plate, but he has a favorable matchup on Tuesday against Drew Rasmussen and the Tampa Bay Rays.
Bregman has hit .308 with a 1.246 OPS and two homers across 14 at-bats against Rasmussen, making him a solid bet to target if you need a late addition to your DFS lineups.
Other options to stream could be Marcell Ozuna, who has a 1.045 OPS and six homers across 33 at-bats against Nick Pivetta, and Ezequiel Duran, who has hit .538 with a 1.154 OPS across 13 at-bats against George Kirby. Ozuna has gone yard in six of the eight hits he’s connected on against Pivetta, and while Duran’s matchup against Kirby is far from ideal, few players have those numbers against the Seattle Mariners ace.
Robbie Ray Is a Valuable Streaming Pitcher for Tuesday
There will be several aces on the mound on Tuesday, so the streaming pool isn’t as deep as it might be in other slates. Pitchers like George Kirby, Sandy Alcantara, Tarik Skubal, and Paul Skenes are universally owned across all formats, but if you’re looking for a low-end bargain, then one hurler who’s worth keeping close tabs on is Robbie Ray.
Even though his stats aren’t eye-popping by any means (1-1, 3.38 ERA, 1.03 WHIP), he’s coming off a decent showing in the win over the New York Mets on Thursday, allowing two runs and fanning seven across 5.1 innings. What makes Ray so valuable is the fact that he’s had excellent results against the Philadelphia Phillies in the past.
Aside from limiting the Phillies to a .202 average and .639 OPS across 117 plate appearances, he’s also limited current Philadelphia hitters to a .280 wOBA.
